Well, I’m in the process of sourcing some soy beans in Saskatoon. So far everyone is carrying organic soy beans, but the prices are wildly different across the board:

• Nutters $4.49/lb
• Mom’s Nutrition $2.25/lb
• Steep Hill Co-op $1.75/lb (member price only, when bought by the bag)
• Old Fashion doesn’t carry soy beans

I haven’t checked Superstore, but I suspect they’ll probably be somewhere between Steep Hill and Mom’s Nutrition. Any other places I should go check out? I suspect Eastern Market may carry as well… but no answer when I called today.

My Tuesday ritual is to goto a civic centre and soak in the hot tub for 2 hours. I’ve done this for nearly a year now. I invite friends and we all have a fantastic time catching up on the week. My story starts with me going down to the parkade to leave.

Well today I did a walk through of the condo. There were a few things left to be done, but overall I was impressed they did as much as they did over the week. An agreement to take possession while they continue to finish the remaining work was drafted as well. So, I got possession around noon today.

I took a few pictures, but the place was still a mess of various construction bits and pieces. I’m going back later tonight and expect I’ll be able to move a few things in and take more pictures.

Had my walk-through today. Here’s what they have to complete by the end of the week or I’m pooched.

• Door and Weatherstripping
• Outlet/Lightswitch/Cat5/Coax covers
• Vent Covers
• Door handles
• Caulk the wall base
• Bolt the stairwell down
• Fan/furnace cover
• Find the missing half of my pedestal sink and install it
• Find the skirt for my jet tub
• Finish the laundry vents and hookups
• Caulk the windows
• Replace damaged window panes
• Install windows screens and opening hardware
• Install Thermostat

When I got there this morning they had “JUST” started paining the unit. Since the last time I was there, they installed place holder light fixtures, the stairs and railing and finished installed the bathroom downstairs and up (sans the pedestal since of course). Can’t say I’m surprised so little was done since I last saw the place.

I received my notice of possession yesterday in the mail. The offical day I get the keys is Oct 3rd, 2008. I get a complimentry walk through on the 26th. I’ll take some pictures if there’s anything interesting to see. One month until I own a home again!
