Shopping Day

So today I spent money. A fair amount of it was kinda utility. I bought two new shirts, some pants and shoe’s. All stuff in needed, so I don’t feel too sad about that. I also bought a kneeling chair from office depot for $110 and so far it’s treating me good. Oh, also got the pants I bought “fitted” and hemmed. Never had that done to regular pants, but I figured it will save the bottoms from wearing out really fast and getting caught on shit all the time.

People who drive large trucks

I’ve never been a fan of large automobiles on the road for anything but commercial use. I find that most people seem to buy them as some sort of personal tank. I guess they didn’t get the memo about large vehicles and their related problems: poor handling compared to cars, prone to flipping, eats way more gas, and costs you way more. Another problem is people who don’t know how to drive them. They seem to think that regular traffic laws don’t apply to them. Their size seems to grant them a large margin of poor driving; in their eyes only. With this in mind…

Amusing License Plate Story

So I decided to get a vanity plate for my car (I’m so VAIN!). My first choice was ICU 812, which was free according to the kind people at the registration office. So I filled out the form, paid the fee and sent it away. A week later I get a call from Barb. The plate I choose is part of the standard plate pool and cannot be assigned (free, but not available for me to just take ). So I tell her I’ll phone her back with some idea’s.

Post-birthdate Report

Saturday I was taken out for dinner by some friends. Thats Kate and Ralph for the foods. I got an great “modified” card from Nathan. Perhaps I’ll post it one of these days. Played a game of Cranium at K&R’s as well. Sunday was mostly sleep and stuff. Nothing exciting went down. I canceled D&D, since starting at 5pm just isn’t cool anymore. My sister took me out to Earls for dinner. Was good times, but for the first time ever I couldn’t eat a whole order of kung poa chicken.

The Bestest Idea for a Christmas Present Ever

For my mom

Right, so I’m surfing the net today and my favorite tech site, Engadget, has an article about how a company called iRobotics has released information on how to modify their robots. Now, the interesting thing about their robots, is that they vacuum and wash floors. Thats right, they zoom around your floor while your not watching and pick stuff up. This of course depends on you having a floor you can see, so you have to pick your stuff up to begin with. Anyways, back to the point. It’s cool to hack stuff.

So I’m sitting here… it’s just over a week until Christmas. Circumstances this year have stopped my from purchasing presents for my parents (at their request), so I haven’t really thought about what I could get them. So it suddenly hits me, this robot vacums… my mom is a compulsive vacumer… hmmmmm… suddenly it all makes sense. Why have my poor old mom (sorry mom) vacuum when these cute little robots can do it for her. They seem fairly low maintenance and apparently do a decent job. So I now have an idea for her present next year.. A Roomba robot vacuum cleaner. I just hope it doesn’t turn on her and do something crazy like… um… maul her feet?

My First New Car

I bought a Mazda 3 Sport GT today. It’s Indigo Blue Mica in color. Here are the high lights of what it has, but it basically has everything… so ya:

  • 17″ alloy wheels
  • Moonroof
  • 160hp @ 6500rpm
  • 5 speed manual (which shifts like a wet dream)
  • 6 speaker stereo
  • Tri-mode electroluminescent gauges ( red, blue and green? )
  • Auto day lights
  • Keyless entry
  • LED Tail Lights
  • And tons more… just goto Mazda and spec it.

A don’t actually get the car until Monday or Tuesday, but deposit is paid and everything else is en-route.

Jobbed

I got word from TinyEye today that I have the job. I start in the first week of January. Ever since Monday I’ve literally been sick with anxiety. Feels great to have the wait over.

Maybe I’m the Whore?

In the past I’ve always called cats whores. Mostly because they can’t get enough attention out of people. I now live with three cats. Two are my sisters and one is mine. Our friends affectionately refer to us as the “Cat Ladies” Thought I’m far from a lady? Anyways… I was sitting in my room today, and Mona comes in and hopes onto my lap. I pet her for a bit, then Baily comes in… Mona gets up and leaves the room. Baily hops up. About ten minute later, Aden comes… I was beginning to feel used. Then it occurs to me!

Online Dating, The Given

So I’ve been using all sorts of online dating sites for more than a year now. I’ll refrain from being bitter, but I’ve yet to find true love. I have, however, found some patterns that emerge from profiles. While my research is purely observational, and could admittiantly be biased by the searches I do… here is a list of things I’ve noticed:

Sonorix OBH-0100, Part 2

I’ve gotten a few emails and a comment on my last post about these headphones. Mostly in concerned with the price. As it turns out the internet offers these headphones for way cheaper than futureshop:

  • Sonorix UK offers them for about 84GBP, or $125 Canadian.
  • Blue Unplugged, again a UK store. Slightly higher price.
  • My favorite Expansys. $240 from them, and they actually ship from the UK, to the USA, to Canada… So… ya.

For the most part the only store to bring them in and sell them AFAIK is FutureShop and BestBuy. They must obviously know it, because they charge a fortune for them. Anyways, it is definitely possible to get them cheaper than $300 like I paid, but… they still don’t fit right and the charging is awkward. I’m still skeptical about the battery life as well. Thou some people have messaged me to say they get plenty of listening off them… so I dunno.
