What it is to be a Millar (Mortal Danger is no Joke)

Oky, so I’m not a Millar by name really. That was my mothers maiden name thou. I’m not exactly sure if it’s English in origin or Irish. Seeing as my grampa came from Ireland, I’ll go with that. Anyways… you may not of known this, but some Irish people have anti-luck. Now this is not as bad as it sounds. It’s not like we’re dropping dead from unusual things all the time. It’s more of a condition that gets us in strange situations. For example…

My mother and her sister have gone on a vacation to Mexico starting this week. As luck would have it, a huge hurricane is heading straight for them! Sweet you say, hurricanes are like storms in Saskatchewan times 2 right? Probably not, but how should be know… we live in the middle of nowhere. Anyways, thats the “strange” situation. Perhaps not so strange for most people… but for our family it seems kinda normal to have an adventure everyday.

I think positive aspect of this condition is that we typically don’t let our selves get down on these events. We continue to struggle on or pretend it didn’t really happen. or it wasn’t that bad. We’ll tell tall tales of how we beat Wilma (thats the name of the hurricane) in2005. As some of my friends already know very well, I always seem to have some crazy story to tell. I don’t know HOW I get myself in situtations… but I do. I ordinarily tell them with nearly 100% truth; any fabrication is typically there to protect the innocent… hehehe.

Which brings me to my next point/topic/entertaining conjecture, if you want to have a good time traveling bring a Millar with you. I’m planing on going across Asia next year with my sister. Maybe if we add a few more people to the pack it’ll get cheaper AND provide that much more chance of craziness! I can’t guarantee anything, but I’ll try my best to keep us out of jail for the duration of the trip.
